TM-SQUAREスイフトにじっくりと乗ってみました

明日5/31（日）までの2日間、ASMでTM-SQUAREスイフトフェアを開催します。いや、別に「フェアでドカーンとお客さんが来てくれてウハウハだぜ〜！」とか言うイベントではなくて、ZONE・HYPERCOなど本物を創り出したり見抜いたりできる田中実さんが自ら開発している製品がズラリと揃ったTM-SQUAREと言うブランドにボク自身が惚れ込んだから、ひとりでも多くのスイフトオーナーさんにその魅力を知って欲しいし、田中実さんと言う人の面白さも実感して欲しいと考えているからです。このイベントの間、田中実さんが応援に来てくれていますし、そのミノルさんのBlogで超有名なミノルインターナショナル長谷川さんも来ています。助手席試乗OKのスイフトを2台展示していますので、スイフトオーナーの皆さん、本物パーツ好きの皆さん、ぜひご来店下さい。
昨日の夜と今朝の通勤時、そのデモカーの1号車に乗ってみました。エンジン〜サスペンション・ブレーキまで全てミノルさんのこだわりでまとめられたタイムアタック用の車両です。そういいつつも、見た目や乗り心地はライトチューンレベルなので、もしこれが営業車として手元にあれば、毎日乗るのが全く苦じゃないし移動が楽しそうだな〜と思えてきます。SACLAMマフラーの排気音は、外で聴いたり空ぶかしで聴くよりもずっと軽快です。高周波音は2つの純正触媒によってほとんどなくなってしまうのですが、そこは宇野さんが残りわずかな高周波音をきっちりと聴かせてくれるギリギリの排気管設計をしてくれていました、さすがです。他社マフラーと比較すると高周波音量の差はわずかなものかもしれませんが全域で確実に違いますから、ボクの選択はこれ以外にはないですね。
その他に気に入ったのがホイールです。軽量であることとか鍛造であることにばかり注目が集まりがちな部品ですが、ボクがこだわりたいのがタワミの少なさです。下手に軽さを謳っているホイールに交換するとバネ下がブルブルするし、コーナーリング中にホイールがねじれて戻る症状が出てフィーリングが悪くなります。MINIでもAUDI TTでも感じたことですが、純正の思いホイールを履くと乗り味と言うか質感が非常に高く感じられて、社外品に替えるとそれがなくなってしまうのに、TM-SQUAREのホイールだとホイールのタワミをほとんど感じません。デザインもシンプルで飽きが来ないものなので、MINI用のPCDも用意して欲しいなぁと思ったほどです。そのことを朝ミノルさんに軽く話をしたところ、35分ぐらい説明されてしまいました（汗）。でも本当に勉強になるパーツ作りの物語ばかりなので、話を聞くだけでもご来店の価値がありますね。
・・・と書いていると、早速ホイールをお買い上げのスイフトオーナーさんが（笑）。なんと諏訪からのご来店です。ありがとうございました！
May 30th and on the 31st, we are going to have a SWIFT fair with TM-SQUARE at ASM. It’s not just because I want customers to come but I fell in love with the brand which Tanaka Minoru-san made. Using ZONE pads, HYPERCO springs, and their own body kits and etc. I would like for those swift owners out their to actually see, feel and experience what is TM-SQUARE about. And how fun a guy Tanaka Minoru-san is. Off cause Hasegawa-san will also come from MINORU International. We will prepare two-SWIFT demo cars from TM-SQUARE which you will be able to seat on the passenger side for a demo run. For those who loves SWIFT, and for those who loves real parts, come to ASM for the weekend.
I drove their car no.1 on the way back home last night and to work this morning. Engine, suspension, brakes all of it has been tuned with MINORU style. And car no.1 is a time attack car which can be driven on the street. But comparing with our S2000’s the looks and the ride its self is a light tuned level. If I had this as a commercial vehicle, it will be fun and wouldn’t be bored of driving everyday. With the SACLAM pipes, listening from out side or just reving it you can feel and hear the lightness. The high frequency sound almost disappears with the two genuine catalyzes. But still a bit of that typical SACLAM sound which Uno-san has design the exhaust pipes. Comparing with other after market pipes, the volume of the high frequency sound is smaller but the quality its self is perfect and I wouldn’t choose anything else but this.
the other item I liked was the wheels. Off cause its light forged is attractive but what attracted me the most was the how inflexible the rims are. If choose some light weight rims, the below the springs will start to shake and at the corners the rims its self will twist a bit which will make the feeling even worst. With MINI or with the AUDI TT with the heavy genuine rims, the taste or the texture was highly felt. And will disappear after changing it to a after market rims. But with the TM-SQUARE rims, it does not flex nearly at all. The design is simple but will not get bored of it. I even thought of asking them to make one for my MINI. I was talking with Minoru-san this morning about it this morning and he explained to me for half an hour. He is good in explaining things and helps me a lot. Just listening about his story of each parts are worth it.
And while writing this, I have managed to sell one set of rims to a SWIFT owner. Who came all the way from Suwa.
