MINIとカーボンボンネット

先月からご来店いただくようになったMINIコンバチオーナーさん、前回装着したASMフロントサブフレーム補強バーGTとセンターフロア補強バーGTをすごく気に入って下さいました。まず何よりもハンドリングの遊びが減ってレスポンス良くノーズが向きを変えるようになったこと、そしてサブフレームのたわみが減ったことでダンパーが仕事し始めて乗り心地が良くなったことに感動されたそうです。シンプルだけどピンポイントで効果的な補強をするASM筑波スペシャルのチーフエンジニア、サクシードスポーツ市川さん設計・製造のボディ補強パーツを試さない理由はありません。
今日はヴェーチェ製カーボンボンネットを装着しました。ヴェーチェは日本で言うところのチャレンヂさんや童夢さんのようなカーボンコンポジット工場で、BMW E92 M3の純正カーボンルーフや、身近なところではRECARO SP-Xシリーズのカーボンシェルの製造を担当している会社です。今回装着したのは、そのヴェーチェ社がR53系クーパーS用に開発したカーボンボンネット。ASMが薦める製品ですから、大切な部分はもちろんオートクレーブ成形のプリプレグ製品です。
ASMで定番で扱っている製品ではなく、ボク個人用に1セット隠しておいたモノなのですが、オーナーさんから「ATなのでDREXLER LSDを装着できないから、代わりになる何かを提案して欲しい」とリクエストされて、加速・減速・コーナーリング全てに効果的な軽量化の一環としてこのボンネットをお薦めしたところ、一発で気に入ってご購入になったわけです。今後、ASM SRE Dumper Kit 3way、JCW GPアルミサスペンションアーム、R56 Cooper S純正リヤブレーキシステム、ZONEブレーキパッド、そして最後に仕上げでSACLAMエンジンヘッドと言う感じでしょうか。この先どうなっていくのか、メチャクチャ楽しみな1台です。
ちなみにこのボンネットの価値は、大きさやフィッティングレベル、表面の仕上げレベルの高さから判断すると、無限カーボンハードトップS2000用と同じぐらいあります。
This MINI owner started to come to ASM from last month. The last time he came, we installed the ASM Front Sub Frame Enhance Bar GT and ASM Center Floor Enhance Bar GT and loved it a lot. The most was the response with the handling was improved dramatically. With the nose turning the way he wanted it to be and with the enhance bar there is less twist to the chassis which helps the damper do they job. Also surprised with the improved comfort. It is simple but hits at pint point where is necessary. All of our ASM GT bars are design and made by Ichikawa-san. Who is the chief engineer of our Tsukuba Special from Succeed Sports.
Today we installed the Veche carbon bonnet. Veche is like a carbon factory like Challenge and Doumu in Japan. They are produced the BMW E92 M3 genuine carbon roof, the RECARO SP-X series carbon shell. From this Veche, we installed the R53 type Cooper S carbon bonnet. it is made by auto clap pre preg for most parts.
We don’t usually have this in stock and we had this one set from before which I was planning to install it on my MINI. This car was AT and could not install the DREXLER LSD so he was looking for something else which will help with the pick up and corners which was to reduce weight. After looking at the product he purchased it right away. The next step would be installing the ASM SRE Damper Kit 3way, JCW GP aluminum suspension arm, R56 Cooper S genuine rear brake system, ZONE brake pads and in the end the SACLAM engine head. Its one MINI I am looking forward to see the changes.
The price of this carbon bonnet is almost the same as the MUGEN carbon hard top for S2000 due to the size, fitment level and the surface finish.
