ASM筑波スペシャル2008 −TODA POWER 2008−

2008年、戸田レーシング製エンジンはヘッド周りのファインチューンと吸排気管の見直しにより去年より約20馬力アップの345馬力に達しました。2.4Ｌ＆ドライサンプ化した2004年以来徐々にパワーを上げてきていましたが、当時と比較して26kg増えた車重（980kg→1,006kg）と大幅に向上したダウンフォースと相殺されて決して目立つチューニングとはなりませんでしたが、今シーズンは大きな変更点のひとつと言えるでしょう。
エキゾーストマニホールドはGTカーの新技術を投入した新エンジンに合わせてプライマリー径を50φまで拡大、サイレンサーはメインパイプ70φのままテールサイレンサー内径をさらに拡大して排気効率を向上させました。4スロに装着していたネットは、ファンネル周辺の吸気効率を上げるために全体を覆うタイプに変更しました。ターボ車のような劇的なパワーアップを望むことはできないのですが、2008年仕様のエンジンは今まで以上の迫力を十分感じさせてくれる素晴らしいものでした。戸田レーシングの皆様、ありがとうございました。
This year comparing from last year, we didn’t do much modification
The 2,4L dry sampled engine unit from Toda Racing has reached 345bhp. Increase by 20bhp from last year by retuning the head unit, rebuilding the exhaust system. Since 2004, we have increased the power each year and because of that the weight of the car has increased by 26kg, from 980kg to 1,006kg, the increase of the down force with the body kit. Not that much of a big difference but a difference, which made this year the year it was.
Because of the new engine, we increased the exhaust manifold pipe size to 50φ, the main pipe is the same as before 70φbut we increase the size of the end of the silencer to increase flow for the exhaust fumes. The four individual throttles are covered by one big net, this helps flow for the intake, instead of covering them individually.
Not like turbo tuned cars we cant hope for that much of a difference but I would like to thank everyone from Toda Racing for building a engine which makes you feel more then you expected.
