ASM筑波スペシャル2008 −DREXLER LSD−

駆動系パーツとして導入したDREXLER LSDは圧巻の性能でした。既に欧州F3ではスタンダードとなる圧倒的シェアを持つ独ドレクセラー社にS2000専用品としてASMから特別オーダーした機械式LSDです。音が出ないだとか振動なくスムーズに動くと言うのはこの製品の魅力の極一部でしかありません。
加藤寛規選手によると、最初はメカデフを搭載している感じが全くなかったと言うことです。奥で踏み込んだ時にパキッと効いて車の向きをそれを利用して変える車作りをここ数年進めてきました。どんなにダウンフォースを向上させたりサスセッティングを見直してもどうしても消えなかったコーナー進入時のアンダーステアが、DREXLER LSDを投入した今シーズンは全く消えています。もちろんキッチリとトラクションは確保されているので姿勢が乱れることはないですし、そこからアクセルを踏み込んでいくとちゃんとLSDが効き始めて車を前に押し出してくれます。
また去年まではレスポンス向上のためにプレロードを12kgかけて組み付けしていたのですが、今年は5kg程度のプレロードでよくなりました。これは車をスタッフで押した時にはっきりと違いが分かるほど車のフリクションが減って軽くなりますから、ストレートでの最高速度到達時間の短縮に寄与していますし、これが進入時のアンダーステア軽減にも繋がっています。これはASMで販売開始した製品版と100％同じものを使っています。今週2台のS2000に装着予定のLSDですが、お客様の評価が楽しみな製品です。
For the drive train DREXLER LSD performance was overwhelming. An overwhelming shares In Euro F3. We at ASM asked DREXLER to build LSD for S2000. Not only because they don’t make any noise and vibration or it moves smoothly. That’s only one small reason.
According to Kato Hiroki, it didn’t feel like a mechanical deferential. We are trying to make it when you punch it to the floor the LSD kicks in and turn the car. No Metter how much we try to improve the aero dynamics, re-adjust the suspension there was under-steer at the entrance of the corner. This season with the DREXLER LSD all of that has disappeared. Off cause there is traction and it stays balanced and it helps push the car out through the corner.
Up to last year for more improve response, preloads to 12kg but this year we only needed 5kg. When our stuff pushed the car, it was obvious that the car had less friction and lighter. This should reach the top speed at lesser time. Should be fewer under-steers at the entrance at the comers. This is the same product which also sale at ASM. We have plans to install two S2000 this week and I am looking forward with their response.
