ASMオレンジのMINI

1週間お預かりして作業していたR53 MINI Cooper Sが完成しました。ベース車両の購入から全塗装・エアロ・インテリア・タイヤホイールまでを埼玉県のMINI専門店bond MINIさんで行い、ASMはサスペンション・ブレーキ部分を中心に機能面を担当させていただくことになりました。
選択したサスキットはSRE Damper 3WAYにHYPERCOスプリングをセットしたASMオリジナル品です。市販車でもSREらしいフラットな乗り味を十分実感いただけるので、装着されたMINIオーナーさんからは絶賛いただいている自信作です。その魅力を引き出すために、フロントアッパーマウント強化プレート・リヤ3段調整スタビライザー・JCW GP純正アルミサスペンションアーム・Super Proポリウレタンブッシュ・GT補強バーを追加装着しました。
強化プレート装着の本来の目的はアッパーマウント部の変形を防ぐことですが、それ以外にも、フロントダンパーの動きを一層スムーズにしてステアリングに伝わってくる振動を軽減し質感を高める効果があります。アルミサスペンションアームは、バネ下部分の大幅な軽量化でサスペンションの動きをスムーズにすることで、路面追従性と乗り心地の両方をを向上させます。3段調整式スタビライザーは、過剰なレートアップを避けて、スポーツラジアルを装着しての街乗り〜サーキット走行で、純正＋αの性能を発揮するため必要なスタビレートを選択できるように作り込んだ自信作です。Middleの穴位置を使うことで純正比108％と言う絶妙なレートアップを実現し、リヤの追従性を向上させつつ強化スタビライザー装着車にありがちな揺すられ感をほとんど感じさせません。フロントサブフレーム開口部およびセンタートンネル開口部をGT補強バーで強化することで、サスペンションの動きがより一層リニアになっています。
ブレーキシステムはbond MINIさんオリジナルのAP RACING 2ピースローターキットを選択しました。4ポット化することで、例えばGP純正の大型フロントブレーキと比較してもはっきりと実感できるコントロール性とタッチの良さが最大の特長です。また、GT500マシンで定番のドライブリードをお薦めするのもASMならではでしょう。リヤにはR56 JCW純正ブレーキシステムを流用して、ローターを大型化することで熱容量を確保しています。パッドは前後共にASM専用摩材のZONE、フロント88Hに対してリヤは初期の効きをやや上げた89Hを採用して、車の姿勢をコントロールしやすいブレーキバランスを実現しています。リヤブレーキホースはASM製、スイベル構造を採用することで、アームの動きにスムーズに追従します。
その他明日写真を追加しますが、ウォーターラインから空気を分離して冷却効率を設計値近くまで発揮させるエアキャッチタンク、安定しないステアリングフィールを一定に保つパワステタンク、広い後方視界を確保しつつフェラーリF50をモチーフにした特徴的なデザインとオレンジ塗装を組み合わせたZOOMモナコミラーなど、オーナーさんの理想のMINIに近づけるメニューを一通り実施しました。今後、SACLAMエアクリーナーBOX・エキゾーストマニホールド・サイレンサーキット・エンジンヘッド・ASMビッグスロットルIS-09などエンジン周辺パーツの交換や、DREXLER LSD装着を予定されています。買った時がピークではなく、毎日乗るたびに魅力が高まっていく車作りでオーナーさんに満足していただけたらなぁと思います。これからもよろしくお願いします。

We finally finished this R53 MINI Cooper S which we had with us for a week. From purchasing the car its self, the custom paint job, body kits, interior, tires and wheels are done by bond MINI in Saitama which is a shop specializes in MINI. At ASM we improve the performance by changing the suspensions and brakes for starters.
The damper he chose was the SRE Damper kit 3WAY with HYPERCO springs from ASM. You will be able to experience the flat right with high sports performance. Its one of the product that all other MINI owners who installs it loves it. To bring out its performance even more, adding the enhance front upper mount, rear adjustable stabilizer, JCW GP genuine aluminum suspension arm and Super Pro polyurethane bush was added and GT Enhance bar was also added.
The real reason of installing the enhance plate is to prevent the upper mount part from deformation and to make the front damper move more smoothly, reducing any unnecessary information through the steering wheel. With the aluminum suspension arm, reducing the weight beneath the springs which also will make the movement smooth and absolute stability with comfort. With the adjustable stabilizer, not choosing the high rate but to match the sports radial tires and for use on the streets and maybe a little bit on the track. We aimed the rate for genuine plus α performance only for necessary rate up. Using the middle hole will give you 108% compared to genuine and will improve the following capability and you will not feel any jumpy feeling on the car. Adding bars to the opening space of the front sub frame and the center tunnel will make the car movement more linear.
The brake systems are from bond MINI original AP RACING two piece rotor kits. Making it to four pots, even compared with the GP genuine big front rotors, you can feel the difference even more with the touch and the difference with the control of the brakes. For the rear we are using the R56 JCW genuine brake system and only changed the rotors to a larger one for heat issues. For the brake pads for the front we chose the ZONE with the special ASM material of 88H, and 89H for the rear to kick in a bit stronger on the beginning of the braking. It makes it easy to control the car with the brake system welled balanced like this. With the rear brake hose are from ASM to help with the smooth arm movement.
I will be adding more pictures tomorrow but we also added the air catch tank to help the water line to separate air and for more smooth cooling. Added the power steering tank for stable steering wheel, for more larger view of the rear, the ZOOM Monaco mirror which is design based on the F50 which painted orange to match the exterior and interior. in the near future we are also planning to install the SACLAM air-cleaner box, exhaust manifold, silencer kit, engine head, ASM big throttle and DREXLER LSD. Not to change the car from the beginning but to enjoy how the car changes is also important.
